Let the fun begin :)

Welcome to my Blog ladies and gents. I was going to wait until I had a complete U.S. Genesis collection before starting the blog, but a friend said...why wait? so...yeah why wait? The point of this blog is going to be to write reviews on every Sega Genesis game released in the U.S. and give some insight on how to identify and fix common hardware problems.

As of now my collection is 89 games strong, 66 complete ( boxed with instructions) and 23 loose. So...lets start this blog off on a informative note. For those who aren't Sega Genesis collectors, or are just starting...lets get you acquainted with the basics.

Sega Genesis, the follow up to the SMS (Sega Master System) was release in Japan as the Mega Drive in 1988. It was release in the U.S. in 1989 as the Sega Genesis as Sega could not secure the name rights to the Mega Drive over here. It was then released in Europe under the Mega Drive name in 1990.

So here are the different models of Sega Genesis.

                                                                              Model 1

Model 2

Model 3

So as you can see..the system progressively became smaller over time. Also the Model 3 is the only of the 3 to not connect to a Sega CD model.

Also so everyone can see my progress as I get new games..here is my current list in alphabetical order:

Comments

  1. I'll trade you my model 1 for one of your model 2's (j/k), I just prefer the #2 style over 1 or 3. NEED A MASTER SYSTEM >.<

Game Collection Re-Organization

Hey guys, so I been picking up a few new pieces to my collection. Sorry again for the lack of updates, I figured I'd have more time to fit gaming/reviews and other projects in, but I haven't. I just re-organized my game collection though and figured I'd post pics to give you guys an idea how my Genesis CIB collection is coming along. Also posted pictures of my non Genesis stuff. Enjoy!

Find Update

Hey guys. Not a whole lot on the find front for my Sega collection. Lately I've been coming across tons of Nintendo stuff though. My GF is a Nintendo person and has a lot of stuff, but I figured why not start adding to my game room if its the right price...right? Right! So my recent finds have been a N64 with several controllers and games , an SNES model 1 with tons of games and controllers, aaaannddd....a model 2 or mini SNES which I'm pretty stoked that I found out in the wild...and for only $10 bucks! There really hasn't been any major game finds lately or cool oddities, but I will take a picture of the Nintendo lot soon as I wake up a little more and add it. Really hoping to get a house soon so I have room for all my stuff. For those who don't know...I had an apartment loaded with stuff, but decided to move back home to save money for a house...well taking an apartment full of video game and other goodies back to a bedroom..not the best idea lol....we have wallp...

Starting from Zero - A new adventure in game collecting

Seasons greetings and happy new year folks. I have not maintained this blog in a long long time. Over the last several years for personal reasons and financial hardships, I stopped collecting actively and rarely enjoyed time to play the games I owned. I have sold off 98% of my entire collection to help my family in time of need. I am happy to say though, the rough seas have now turned into calm waters. We are house hunting for a home with a large enough space for an entertainment room. My four (soon to be 5) kids love playing games old and new. So I look forward to restarting this journey with them. As of now my collection consists of a few systems I held onto and even less games. Current consoles in my collection :  Green Halo Edition XBOX  XBOX Series X Sega Saturn Sega Dreamcast Sega Genesis Sega 32x Nintendo Gamecube Nintendo Wii (modded) Nintendo Wii U Nintendo Switch Nintendo Gameboy Nintendo Gameboy Color - Purple Nintendo New 3DS XL (Monster Hunter ver.) PSOne PS...
